WHO IS THIS GUY?

Meet Tom Cottar, a self-proclaimed word nerd and lover of people, caffeine and adventure! 

  

Tom is co-founder and CEO of Backpack Friends, Inc., a nonprofit charity headquartered in Austin, TX that is responsible for feeding thousands of children while away from their school campus each weekend. 

​​

Tom is also co-founder and CMO of Rebel90, a holistic, health-based program fostering physical, mental, and spiritual health.  

​

His love for music and writing let to his award-winning songs (Old Country Road, The Devil I Know, Beautiful, and One More Mile) and more. His heart for veterans moved him to create and release the single, On The Inside, a moving tribute that helps fund treatment for those dealing with PTSD. As part of chronicling his own journey, Tom authored the book, Unleashing Your Creativity: Lessons From A Reluctant Creative, to help others begin to see how everyone is designed to be creative-- whether in the arts, in business, or in managing a crazy life of kids, work, and relationships.

Also a member of the Chickamauga Indian Nation, Tom is also working to serve and support the Chickamauga tribes across the US.

Tom and his wife, Heather, live outside Austin, TX, and have 1 daughter in law, 2 dogs, 3 kids, 4 chickens, and a room full of guitars.
